The acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof Daniel Pondei collapsed. The NDDC boss lost conscious where he was seated in the presence of the members of the House Committee on NDDC grilled him for about 40 minutes.

Prof Daniel Pondei was rushed out of the Conference Room 231, venue of the investigative hearing about illegal spending and mismanagement of money.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, stayed behind for the probe, which was suspended after the incident for almost an hour

Shortly after the hearing resumed, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, also joined the lawmakers at the investigative hearing.

Gbajabiamila explained that the decision by the Chairman, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to discard himself from the probe showed that the lawmakers were out to guarantee a dependable exercise.
